Tender and Loving Care
Tender and Loving CareĀ looks at the intersection between fear, protection and care as impetuses that coexist in the context of the semi private/semi public of home as seen from the sidewalk.
I was asked to make this work in conjunction with the new Conceal and Carry legislation in Chicago, and I see a parallel between the conflicting realities of the pictures and the ideology behind the legislation, as they both exist and the crossing of fear, lack of trust, paranoia, self-preservation, protection and a manifestation of systemic problems tied to inequality and privilege.
